Learn how to make your life more environmentally friendly. This website is full of resources, contacts, and links that should help you shape our future. Learn about energy consumption, health, local and organic food, and waste—then set yourself some goals to CHANGE the way you treat the environment. Teens Take Action
ENVIRONMENTAL FAIR AT CRLS - April 15, 2009
The event was a huge success! Thank you to everybody who participated. The enthusiasm and interest from the students, and the dedication of the presenters made this event possible. Over 200 students came to the Teens Take Action Event, engaging in conversations with more than 10 representatives from varying organizations. However, the most important part of this event is the work that happens afterwards. I hope the students who attended continue to think about what they’ve learned, and how they can help save our environment. I encourage students to email me their thoughts and questions about the event, and to share the ways in which they hope to better the environmental state of our world. Thanks again, and hope to hear from you soon!
EVENT ORGANIZER
Ariane Berelowitch, a junior at CRLS and school liaison for Green Streets Initiative, began developing this project six months ago, wanting to create an initiative that would help her peers identify ways to address environmental issues. Many non profits and educational organizations develop resources that target adults, overlooking the potential of teens to have an impact. Teens are a population that is still developing life-long habits–reaching teenagers holds great promise to shape a better future. This project is meant to go the step beyond raising awareness, offering ideas for taking action.
